Give Back to Local Wildlife
Nolin River Wildlife Now Accepting Donations, Sponsorships and Memberships
GLENDALE, Ky- According to The Humane Society of the United States, most wildlife we find around our homes are nurturing mothers looking for a safe space to nest their young. We commonly find squirrels, raccoons, and opossums, in our yards. Yet, most find them a nuisance and relocate them off their property or even worse put them down.
This leaves innocent babies unattended who normally can’t survive without their mothers. If you can be patient for just a few weeks, the nest will serve its purpose and the family will move on. Next time you find another loving mother choosing your home to nest her young, take the time to consider the benefits this animal offers your community.
For example, opossums eat about 5,000 ticks a season, while unable to contract Lyme Disease. This can leave families less concerned about ticks when out under the summer sun.
Through compassion and dignity, Nolin River Wildlife rescues and rehabilitates life back to health. They are now accepting donations through fundraising in order to expand their non-profit organization to help nurture animals such as deer, raccoons, opossums, and more.
Director of Nolin River Wildlife, Mary Key said “Our very first rescue was eight baby opossums who were left in the pouch of their deceased mother. This family is what inspired me to reach out and help more animals like these.”
These donations will help go towards new habitats, equipment, and medicine to provide care for these creatures. With this money, they also hope to rehabilitate even more wildlife including foxes and coyotes.
This fund has a goal of $8,000 to install a new enclosure. No donation is too small to help an animal in need.
Memberships are now available to get involved with the nonprofit. Depending on what level of membership a person wants, they can receive anything from a sticker, button, t-shirt, and even social media shout outs for joining their team.
The nonprofit now offers a variety of sponsorships. These include the options of sponsoring food, supplies, medical help, or the enclosure. Sponsorship makes a difference in helping abused and hurt animals. For pricing click here.
Nolin River Wildlife is also opening their doors to other companies and organizations looking to get involved in partnerships. A partnership could include placing a donation jar in the establishment or sticks on display windows.
Key said, “Everything God has made, he’s made so beautifully. I want to encourage others to help us preserve that beauty to the best of our ability.”
